East Tennessee Historical Society named Andy Peck the
2023 Community History Leadership Award Winner and 2024 Project Excellence Award Winner for Sawbones!
Andy Peck is the series editor for Cross Mountain Books’ Pecks of Mossy Creek series, including Ada’s Journal and Emma’s Letters, Charley’s Novel, and Sawbones: Volumes I & II. He is the fifth great-grandson of Mossy Creek’s founders and the third great-grandson of Dr. Isham and Emma Peck.
A military chaplain, family historian, and author, Andy holds a Master of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Missouri – Columbia.
Andy has spoken at schools, churches, universities, and historical societies across the South. His most notable engagement was as keynote speaker for the Appalachian Cultural Center at Carson-Newman University. He has also presented for the East Tennessee Historical Society and the Tennessee State Library and Archives.
He has toured extensively through East Tennessee, Western North Carolina, Georgia, and Louisiana, and appeared on Knoxville’s Living East Tennessee.
Andy enjoys time with family, golf, and performing the National Anthem on trumpet at military and community events. He is available for book signings, podcasts, and speaking engagements.
